The Human Rights Commission – Zambia (HRC-Z) has held an engagement with the SADC Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM) ahead of Zambia’s 13 August 2026 General Election.

The engagement, which took place yesterday, 11 August 2026, provided an opportunity for HRC-Z to share its human rights perspective on Zambia’s electoral environment, including concerns around the protection of fundamental freedoms, electoral violence, inclusive participation and misinformation.

The discussions form part of HRC-Z’s ongoing electoral preparedness, stakeholder engagement and monitoring efforts, aimed at strengthening human rights protection and supporting peaceful, inclusive and credible elections.
