A workshop to build the capacity of the Human Rights Commission Zambia (HRC-Z) in monitoring and investigating child rights violations, and ensuring appropriate redress for victims, is taking place at The Wish Executive Lodge in Kafue District from 6th to 17th October 2025.

The training, facilitated by the Child Justice Forum with support from UNICEF, is being offered to 70 HRC-Z staff drawn from all ten provinces of Zambia.

Through this training, participants are being equipped with knowledge of the Childrenโ€™s Code Act No. 12 of 2022, as well as child safeguarding principles and procedures. They are also sharpening their skills in monitoring and reporting the implementation of the Childrenโ€™s Code Act.

This intervention will enhance the Commissionโ€™s oversight role and execution of its mandate relating to the promotion and protection of childrenโ€™s rights in Zambia.
