Commissioners at the ongoing public hearing in Nangoma have heard that, between June 2024 and June 2025, Nangoma Mission Hospital alone delivered 928 pregnant girls between the ages of 15 and 19 years.

Alarmingly, sixty-eight of these pregnancies were delivered through the cesarean section.

These glaring statistics show how serious and dangerous the problem of child marriage and teen pregnancy is in Mumbwa District.
