New HRC Staff take Oaths of Office

The Human Rights Commission of Zambia is pleased to announce the official swearing in of ten newly appointed staff members, who took their Oaths of Office this morning at the Judiciary in Lusaka. The ceremony was conducted before Hon. Mrs. Justice Susan Mtonga Wanjelani, Judge-in-Charge of the Lusaka High Court Economic and Financial Crimes Division.

Speaking during the ceremony, Justice Wanjelani reminded the new staff members of the weight of their responsibility in the promotion and protection of fundamental rights and freedoms of all citizens in line with the Commission’s mandate under Article 230 of the Constitution of Zambia

The administration of the oath of office is a mandatory requirement under Section 12 of the Human Rights Commission Act No. 4 of 2024, which requires that staff of the Commission shall, on appointment, take an oath in accordance with the Official Oath Act of the Laws of Zambia.

The Commission congratulates the newly appointed staff members.
