The Human Rights Commission of Zambia (HRC-Z) had an engagement meeting with information holders in Ndola on 23rd July, 2026 to enable them understand their role and obligations under the Access to Information Act, No. 24 of 2023, and fully comply with the law.
With support from the European Union through the GIZ-Zambia Office, the Commission convened the meeting which was attended by 37 information holders representing public and private bodies, and sensitised them on the ATI Act, their obligations, procedures on how to deal with requests for information and the role that the Human Rights Commission will play as the oversight body.
The Commission also collaborated with the Ministry of Information and Media in capacity-building the heads of government departments in Ndola at an ATI sensitisation meeting held on 24th July, 2026 at Ndola Council Chambers.
