The Human Rights Commission of Zambia (HRC-Z) has taken an important step towards strengthening institutional integrity following an engagement with the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on the establishment of an Integrity Committee.
During the meeting held at the HRC-Z Headquarters in Lusaka on 2nd June 2026, the ACC provided an overview of theIntegrity Committee Programme, a key corruption prevention initiative under the National Policy on Anti-Corruption.
The programme supports institutions in promoting ethical conduct, accountability and transparency through internal mechanisms that help identify and address weaknesses in systems and procedures.
The engagement marked the beginning of a collaborative process that will support the Commission’s efforts to establish an Integrity Committee in line with the Integrity Committee Guidelines of 2021.
Speaking during the meeting, ACC Senior Corruption Prevention Officer, Mr. Chiko Halwindi highlighted the role of Integrity Committees in strengthening internal controls and reducing opportunities for corruption and related malpractices within institutions.
The Human Rights Commission welcomed the engagement and reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, accountability and ethical conduct in the promotion and protection of human rights in Zambia.
